I thought for weeks about how I would "spend" this super, waycool BONUS day.

I decided to keep the work schedule totally free, use it as a catch up day for some neglected reading, eBay hunting and other fun things. We're having a bit of a snowy day in the old rust belt mess north of Detroit, but it is sure pretty out. Our government leaders? can sure mess up our lives with this stupid, lousy funking economy.... but they can't mess with Mother Nature's beauty....

As I was getting caught up with reading through a friend's LJ entries, I noticed some people commented to him that they were "clouded-out" from the recent Lunar Eclipse. I was able to catch it that night at nearly 100% so am posting the photo to share. Enjoy!!

I certainly won't miss the chance today to go eBay duck hunting. I have been VERY fortunate to win some bids on these cute little artistic masterpieces, each one unique and vibrant with colour and passion. Many of my friends have heard of these little creatures that add needed life and beauty to my art collection so I am posting a few pictures to let the world know how house-trained these lil darling ducklings can be.

Who's next? Time for bed

SO... how are you spending this "jour d' bonus"? Would love to hear from you.

<lj:music>John Mayer - Good Love is on the Way</lj:music>

Ok, ok....... so I haven't posted for awhile. Got a gentle, provoking reminder today from the best friend, super artistic, galpal. Ouch! (smiling)

Sure been a couple of busy months doing this and that. Took care of some family matters, did some charity work, explored the awesome, I mean, awful Michigan economy, saw some old friends and helped a few people along the way. Prayers continue for a local fellow who I hope gets back on his feet - and stays there.

It is so great to hear our artistic friend has completed the physical chapter of his journey eastward. While gone from the local metro mess we call the Detroit area, he is not gone from our hearts. Really looking forward to completing a 'lil project we started together to "right" some "wrongs" he has endured.

Summer will bring some fun times with da family and friends. Sure gonna miss the youngest of the clan as she spends a month or so in the German countryside.

well, that's it for now........... back to "my reading." ha!

    <lj:music>John Mayer - I Got A Woman</lj:music>

Had a nice visit with my Father today. I wanted to spend some quality time with him before he ventured to St. Louis to visit family and to his hometown to visit some old friends. We had a great dinner, watched some Fox News, debated some and solved a few world issues, and had a few laughs reminiscing about some past family times.

Today would have been his 59th anniversary with that beautiful woman my sisters and I called Mother. I could tell Dad was glad to have some company.

My best friend had a very hectic day today but managed to fit in a few chats. All is good tonight.

    <lj:music>John Mayer - Bigger Than My Body</lj:music>

Please join me in welcoming myself to LJ. I've been a reviewer for some time, often immersing my eyes and thoughts and emotions into the posting of others........ both those I have met and those I click onto. There are truly some amazing people out here and I hope to meet more of them through this new adventure, share thoughts and feelings and hope to make someone's day a little brighter here and there.

My life has been full of deadlines, demands and occasionally dilemmas that have precluded me from putting thoughts into words. Too many work hours, too many lost days searching for the "life" Ward Cleaver made me believe was out there.

I am certain to reflect upon this topic from time to time but tonight, as my first LJ entry, I would like to thank my family and friends for their loving support over the years. I am a blessed man as I go through this chapter in my being.

Now the fun stuff. I was thinking today about the many memories of April Fool's Day pranks, both the ones I pulled on others..... but also the best ones pulled on me. I even got up this morning and looked outside to see if that pony my older cousin Bobby said was in the yard. I also still have the "magic stones" in my dresser drawer, tucked away with my Cub Scout hat that will for sure turn into gold one of these April 1st's.

But not this year. No foolin' me. Grounded. Ready for anything. And besides, it's after 11pm so the chance of getting pranked is not likely.

Hold on a minute. Need to go check the yard again.

best regards, et je t'aime pour Toi,

pfunk
